 eines der in der Natur am häufigsten vorkommenden Terpene. Mit seinem süßen und zitrusartigen Geruch ist es einer der am häufigsten verwendeten Duftstoffe in kosmetischen Formulierungen. 

Es findet sich in verschiedenen Lebensmitteln, aber auch in pflanzlichen Insektiziden und Reinigungsmitteln.

Therapeutische Eigenschaften:
Die medizinischen Eigenschaften von D-Limonen sind gut beobachtet und umfassen entzündungshemmende, antioxidative, antinozizeptive, krebshemmende, antidiabetische, antihyperalgetische und antivirale Wirkungen.
